OUR STORY
We both grew up in Nova Scotia - Natasha in the city and Katie in a small town. This is just the beginning of our similarities and differences.
We both attended St. Mary’s University for our psychology undergrads but didn’t know each other. It wasn’t until we both ventured west to the University of Calgary for our social work undergrads that we finally met.
We’ve spent many years in different social work roles supporting others, but we’ve found our real passion in our roles as therapists. We spend so much time together, talking, thinking and dreaming that it only made sense to join forces and become one as Living Curiously.
Living Curiously is a therapy practice aimed to meet people where they’re at and to create a therapeutic space that people can be fully themselves, no matter how they’re showing up that day/month/week/year. We’ve seen how life has a way of getting people down and we’ve also seen the growth that can come from support and connection. We recognize that there’s no one size fits all approach to therapy which is why we both work from an integrated approach.
Living Curiously is here to help move you toward your goals, whatever they may be, in a way that feels best for you.

To Katie, therapy is space for people to explore their current struggles, understand their patterns, and celebrate their strengths and wins. Katie strives to create a space where every client can show up as they are and be supported in doing the work to get them where they want to be. Katie understands that people don’t live in isolation and their environments have an impact; therefore, the therapeutic approach and goals will be different for everyone.

A Tale of Two (Very Different) Personalities
While we may not be the most exciting pair in the world, we do have some fun quirks.
Here’s a lighthearted comparison of our favourite contrasts:
SWEARING IN SESSION VS. KEEPING IT CLEAN
Natasha might drop a colourful word or two during sessions, while Katie prefers to keep things clean.
INTROVERT VS. EXTROVERT
Katie is happy recharging with a good book, while Natasha thrives on socializing and making new connections.
GRAMMAR ENTHUSIAST VS. INVENTING NEW WORDS
Katie’s all about proper grammar, while Natasha is known for making up her own rules.
EARLY RISER VS. NIGHT OWL
Natasha greets the morning before the sun comes up, while Katie is at her best after dark.
CRUISE LOVER VS. SEA-SICK SKEPTIC
Natasha loves the open sea, while Katie prefers to keep her feet firmly on dry sand.
